Travelling to Brazil requires an official Export Health Certificate (EHC) issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV). Please note that EU Pet Passports are not accepted, and pets with a history of leishmaniosis may be refused entry.

Your pet must have an ISO-compliant microchip and meet Brazil’s rabies vaccination requirements.

• Pets over 90 days old require a valid rabies vaccination.

• If this is the first rabies vaccine, travel can only occur 21 days later.

• Pets under 90 days old may travel without rabies vaccination under specific conditions.

We will review your pet’s records to ensure compliance before travel.

• Brazil requires EHC 2906, which must be requested from DEFRA once you confirm us as your chosen Official Veterinarian.

• We guide you through this process and complete all official paperwork on your behalf.

Within the final preparation period, your pet must receive internal and external parasite treatment within 15 days of certification, followed by a clinical examination within 10 days of travel to confirm they are healthy and fit to fly.

We carry out these final checks and record all required treatment details.

Once all requirements have been met, we complete and sign the official health certificate.

The certificate is valid for 10 days from the date of issue, provided the rabies vaccination remains valid.
